Susie Arioli Featuring Jordan Officer – Live at Le Festival International

It has been almost ten years since Susie Arioli Band burst onto the international scene at the 1998 edition of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, wowing audiences with their flawless set of re-imagined swing, standards and charm. It’s fitting then that after selling more than a 200,000 records over the course of their studio career, they finally release a live album.

Live at Le Festival International de Jazz de Montreal sees the group in full swing, interpreting the best of the American classics from which they draw, in one of their finest live performances. From Roger Miller, to Fats Wailer and Jimmy Webb, the band weaves in and out of swing, country, and big-band songs, anchored by Arioli’s breathy and unique delivery. The performance also includes original numbers by long-time collaborator Jordan Officer, also featured in the performance.

Recorded at the Montreal Jazz Festival in the summer of 2006, the band is rounded out by Michael Jerome Browne on guitar, and Shane Mackenzie on bass, with special guest appearances by Remi Leclerc on drums, and Martin Lacassse and Francis Mondoux on vocals.

The audio release also includes a bonus live-performance DVD of the entire show, along with bonus tracks.
