Convention and   Entertainment Center Jan. 5-8, 2005. Recognized as the largest gathering of the   global jazz community, upwards of 7,000 educators, musicians, record executives,   <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IAJE\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iaje.org\/images\/conference\/2005\/city_convctr&amp;qm.jpg\" align=\"right\"\/>exhibitors, media, and enthusiasts are expected to attend. Education will be   firmly at the heart of the conference agenda, and with the record number of   clinics, concerts, and activities, the 2005 IAJE conference program is expected   to provide a great chance for professional development and renewal.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"-1\"><strong>Technology Track<\/strong><br \/>Special care will be given   to scheduling sessions of interest to grass roots educators at all levels,   including an expanded technology track. Sessions in the Technology Track will   include hands-on training in popular music software, using technology to support   jazz education in and out of the classroom, fund raising, and more. Open lab   times will also be scheduled throughout the conference.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"-1\"><strong>Industry Track<\/strong><br \/>An industry track will offer   sessions on career development, artist management, jazz journalism, block   booking, foundation and corporate support, audience development, new media and   Internet issues, record promotion, distance learning and much more. Co-sponsors   of the industry track include <em>JazzTimes, Down Beat, Jazziz, Jazz Report,   Coda,<\/em> NARAS, BET Jazz, the Jazz Journalists Association and DL Media.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><strong>IJFO International Jazz Award<\/strong><br \/>The International Jazz   Festivals Organization and IAJE will present the fourth annual International   Jazz Award. Revised in 2004 to recognize a rising artist who has yet to sign a   major record contract, the award includes a $5,000 prize. Additionally, the   award offers the opportunity to tour a minimum of six IJFO member festivals   during the summer following the award as well as career counseling and   support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exposition<br \/><\/strong>The conference will also feature a 60,000   square-foot industry exposition where instrument manufacturers, music   publishers, specialty travel agencies, recording companies, festivals, colleges   and universities, artist booking agencies and others will exhibit products and   services.
