Street Noise is a ultra-funky gift to soul jazz lovers. This hip organ trio of Joe Kaplowitz on Hammond B-3, Marty Morrison on drums and percussion and Paul Pieper on guitar is sharing some decent music inspired by the various street sounds Joe Kap could hear from his jazz pad! They say inspiration comes in all forms, shapes and sizes – and you, dear listener can definitely hear the variations on their grooves.
In addition to the 2-part “Street Noise,” there’s “Myrtle Avenue Street Crawl” and a great cover of Marvin Gaye’s hit, “Try It Baby.” Joe Kap is definitely worth the listen on his Hammond B-3 and is showing the some of the same skills that catapulted Larry Goldings and Joey DeFrancesco to their present heights as jazz organists.
