Larry Vincent It’s something about the groove. The CD itself is not bad, but Giant Steps stood out from the rest. I’d bet that it has always been one of Larry’s favorite songs, because the interpretation is filled with a level of emotion that’s reached nowhere else on the album. It’s not easy to cover Coltrane well, but the band came together this day and Larry was smoking! Bassist Rusty Holloway should be given a nod for some fine work on this tune as well.

The 8th track, Over the Rainbow is sweetly done as well thanks to Donald Brown’s very nice, very complimentary piano. The CD also features Chris Gray on percussion and Tom Johnson on sax. With this CD Larry Vincent has taken a Giant Step forward in his career and deserves a listen.
